Happy Birthday Pig!! July 29, 2018

You have been a steadfast and dependable steed (except for a clutch, final drive, starter solenoid, ignition short, head lamp short, and a couple of lost shoes) .  We have shared many fine moments together other over the first 100,000.  Even though it took years for me to built the level of fondness which developed early for Piglet (DL650) and Dagmar (K1200RS), you have been the one who was always ready to go the distance and I appreciate that.   I'm looking forward to the next 100,000... after we get that oil lamp thing figured out.

Home!!

Made it home this evening about 10 PM.  Rode from Billings, MT to Sioux City, IA.  A little windy in parts, but pretty uneventful.  Nice to be home. 

Noticed some of my posts did come through.  I'll work on getting them posted Friday with photos.

Short wet day

Had breakfast at restaurant next to last night's motel, North Country Inn Restaurant. Talked to a rider from Kentucky who was also at hotel in Hyder.  He stopped at same place as us for night.  He is riding an old Honda Nighthawk wirh no windscreen.  I had smoked salmon benny special (egg benidict), was quite good.

Left Vanderhoof at got rained on all day with temps in mide to upper 40's.  Stopped early to warm up about 100 miles from Jasper.  Trying to figure out where we are going after Banff, East Glacier is probably likely.  

Left Hyder this morning

Left Hyder this morning after taking a day off to rest and explore yesterday.  Saw Salmon Glacier (nice ride).  Then spent some time in near by Stewert, BC at a Canada celibration.  Tonight Vaderhoof BC, geographic center of BC.  Heading towards Jasper National Park Monday.
